Hi, I am sure I am asking a question that will appear simplistic to most, but ask for patience – am a newbie at this. I intend to do a PhD on museum rhetoric on Q’ing dynasty material artefacts, and in fact a big part of it will focus on Mark Elliot’s work on how Chinese dynastic history of this period has been conflated. I need access to 1) court memorials relating to use and regulation of silk production and artisanal labor, 2)the Nei wei fu and its role in silk production administration. Would anyone be able to suggest if Chinese or Manchu is a better language of research and if Manchu, where a good course is offered?
